Kitchen Table Democracy Organizing Kit
Before people gathered around the television, they gathered on the front porch, at the post office, and around their kitchen tables. They discussed problems and found solutions. It created a sense of connectedness and community. Building on the idea of old-fashioned neighborhood traditions, we have developed guidelines for meeting with friends and neighbors to take on the issue of corporate personhood. We call this "Kitchen Table Democracy."You can take direct steps to help abolish corporate personhood. One of the most effective ways to help create momentum is by taking local action. Local ordinances are created in different ways, so the first step is to coalesce the energy of your own community. Use the resources below to conduct your own Kitchen Table Democracy group and elevate human rights over corporate rights.
